The junior high division saw some stiff competition as the boys ran against 148 runners and the girls competed against 158. Sundance volleyball won their season opener on Tuesday night against Upton. The first game was a back and forth of points between the Bulldogs and Bobcats. With the score tied at 10, the Bulldogs started to pull away one point at a time. Sundance was up 21-16 when the Bobcats called a timeout to slow the scoring and try to regroup. The Upton-Sundance Patriots travelled to Deadwood to face off against the Diggers for zero week. Neither the Diggers nor two rain delays would stop the Patriots from taking home a 44-8 victory. Facing off against some tough competition, the Sundance Bulldogs had a strong performance with the girls finishing third as a team and the boys fourth. With thirty-one teams competing in the Queen City Classic, the Bulldogs were up against some tough competition. Despite the odds, two Bulldog athletes placed and pre-qualified for state in their field events. The Sundance Bulldog wrestling team participated in the Powder River Conference Meet held last Thursday at the Sundance High School Gym.
