    The Scott Hardy Memorial meet took place in Wright on Friday. Facing off against some tough competition, the Sundance Bulldogs had a strong performance with the girls finishing third as a team and the boys fourth. Jayden Davis, Hunter Skeens and Josiah Rudloff were all able to take home a first place finish for the Bulldogs in the 800, 1600 and 110 hurdles respectively.   • Bulldogs take on Pre-Easter Invite

    The Sundance track team was in Wright on Tuesday to compete in the Pre-Easter Invitational. Despite the cold and windy conditions, a few Bulldogs were able to improve on their times. Jayden Davis took first place in the 800 meters, dropping nearly three seconds off his time, crossing the line at 2:16:00. Tanner Hofland placed fifth for the boys in the 100 meters and 200 meters, while Hunter Skeens took third in the 1600 and 3200 races.     The Sundance Bulldogs travelled to Spearfish, in the beautiful weather, for their first meet of the season. With thirty-one teams competing in the Queen City Classic, the Bulldogs were up against some tough competition. Despite the odds, two Bulldog athletes placed and pre-qualified for state in their field events. Senior Tanner Hofland placed fourth at the Classic and prequalified for state in the discus, throwing 136-04.     Sundance vs. Southeast The Sundance girls’ basketball season came to a close this past weekend as the Lady Bulldogs fell to the Southeast Cyclones and the Wright Panthers, ending their hopes of a repeat state tournament appearance.     The Sundance boys’ basketball team travelled to Gillette to face three tough teams in hopes of a state tournament bid. Game one left the Bulldogs with the bitter taste of defeat. Facing off against the #2 team from the Southeast, the Glenrock Herders, the Bulldogs came ready to play. In an intense first half, the Bulldogs found themselves down by two at the break, 26-24.     The Sundance boys basketball team hosted the Moorcroft Wolves on Friday night as lone senior Tanner Hofland took the floor for his final home game as a Bulldog.     The Moorcroft Wolves were in town for senior night at Sundance High School on Friday. As lone senior Madison Gill took the home floor for her final night of play, the Lady Bulldogs turned up the intensity looking to avenge the 32 point loss they suffered in January.     The Sundance Bulldog wrestling team participated in the Powder River Conference Meet held last Thursday at the Sundance High School Gym. The injury-riddled Bulldogs were able to go 1-3 on the day with only 5 wrestlers healthy enough to wrestle. The lone victory came against Tongue River 30-24 as all five wrestlers won by pin.     SHS Girls The Lady Bulldogs fell in the final seconds of their game against the Newell Irrigators on Tuesday night in Sundance. The opening eight minutes of the game saw the Newell Irrigators controlling the tempo as well as the score. While turnovers plagued the Bulldogs, they were able to keep the score close trailing 7-12 at the end of the first quarter.     SHS Boys vs. TR: 55-29 The Sundance girls basketball team defeated the Tongue River Eagles 55-29 on Friday, February 1. With this victory, the Lady Bulldogs improved their overall record to 7-9. Keeping control of the boards, the Bulldogs were able to pull down 35 rebounds as a team. Leading the effort were Madison Gill and Teddi Marchant, pulling down a combined 18 rebounds.     The Sundance wrestlers have been busy this past week wrestling in Wright in a five-team dual tournament, hosting a three team mixer and traveling to Newcastle for the Invitational. While on the mats in Wright, the Bulldogs, as a team were able to go 1-3, beating their regional foe, Saratoga.     The 2018-2019 basketball season opened up at the Upton Invite this past weekend. The Lady Bulldogs were up against the Midwest Oilers for their first game. The first quarter started out strong for the Lady Bulldogs as they were able to put up 35 points in the first half.
