The regular season for track and field came to a close on Friday as the Bulldogs hosted their annual invite. With the sun shining and a slight breeze in the air, many Bulldog athletes found themselves ending the regular season with a new personal record (PR) or pre-qualifying for state. Although the weather hasn’t cooperated, the spring golf season is winding down. The Sundance golfers participated in the Tiger Invitational last week in Lusk. The Lady Bulldogs claimed another team title at the Invitational as they were able to edge out the stiff competition of the Upton Lady Bobcats with a team score of 308 to the Bobcats 310. The junior high track team ended their season on Saturday, participating in the district meet held at Croell Field. The Bulldogs fared well in the meet as Madison Neiman took top honors in the seventh grade 400m race with a time of 1:07. The eighth grade girls team saw top placers in many field events with Jaylin Mills taking the high jump, and Karly Marchant placing first in the long jump and triple jump. The Sundance ladies golf team took top honors last week at the Tongue River Invite, finishing first with a team score of 300. Both meets found the Bulldogs competing against larger schools and both meets saw Bulldog athletes earning finishes in the top eight. The winter weather held off for the track and field teams last week as the Bulldog participated in meets at Upton and Spearfish. Traveling to Upton on Thursday, the Bulldogs competed in the Mick Tonkel Classic. The Classic was a smaller meet and many of the Bulldog athletes were able to take the top spots in their events. The Sundance golf team opened their spring season in Upton last Friday competing against golfers from Upton, Glenrock, Lusk, Wright and Moorcroft. Although Sundance did not have enough to compete as a team, individually, the Bulldogs were able finish the meet in great position.
