Theresa “Tess” Metz passed away Oct. 8, 2012, at the age of 92, at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, Wyoming.
Tess was born in Cambria on April 14, 1920, and spent most of her life in the Weston County area. She graduated from Newcastle High School and went to Spearfish College for one year.
On March 9, 1944, she married Ronald “Hap” Metz. They have one son, Ronald Jr. Tess and her family lived in Newcastle until June of 1968 when they operated the Prairie Store and Post Office at Four Corners until September of 1990, after which she and her family retired to Newcastle.
She enjoyed being with her “bridge buddies” and all of her friends.
Tess was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, James C. “Candi” and Margaret “Maggie” Pisciotti. Survivors are her son, Ronald, and his life partner Marc Crouch; her brother, James Pisciotti and his wife Irene and their family; and many relatives and friends.
Per Tess’ request, no graveside service will be held. Instead, friends and family are asked to gather at the dining room at Weston County Senior Services Center on Friday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate her life.
