Samuel F. Bears

Samuel F. Bears of Upton, Wyoming passed away on November 19, 2012, of natural causes. He was born July 7, 1930, to Sam M. Bears and Annie M. (Marsh) Bears. He was the first of eight children. He lived most of his life in Wyoming. He worked at the Kemmerer sawmill until 1962 when it went bankrupt. He moved to Camus, Utah, with his family. He worked in a sawmill. On December 23, 1962, his house caught fire. His family escaped by holding wet wash clothes over their mouth and nose, as they got to the bottom of the stairs, it went up in flames. He then moved his family to Hulett, Wyoming, to work for Neiman Sawmills under James S. Neiman. He then worked for Pope & Talbot in Newcastle until retirement.

He is survived by Sally (Sam) Waugh of Hulett, Terry (Marvin) McAmis of Gillette, Ted (Dela) Bears of Hulett, Ed (Cheryl) Bears of Powell, Wyoming, Mike (Melissa) Bears of Hulett, Cindy (Harold) Millard of Sundance, Wyoming, Bob Bears of Arkansas, Ron (Chelle) Bears of Hulett, Katie (Shawn) Brigan of Minnesota, Jared Bears of Riverton, Wyoming. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Bert, Virginia, Ark, Samson and Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Lorraine and Texie; his brother, Alfred and sister, Janet and one grandchild.

Cremation has taken place under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. Burial will be at a later date.
