The Sundance-Hulett Cross country team competed at the Powder River Conference Cross Country Meet Thursday, October 13 at the Devils Tower Golf Club in Hulett. The boys won the team championship led by Jace Walker of Sundance who won the individual title. “Jace ran a strong race, he took an early lead, and kept pushing all the way,” said Sundance coach Nick Marty. In the boys’ division, the Sundance-Hulett team placed all five runners in the top ten, each earning All-Conference honors. Led by Jace Walker in 1st place, Bret Penning took 2nd, Shannon Morris placed 6th, Dylon Lincoln took 9th and Dalton Cross came in 10th.
In the girls’ division, Sundance-Hulett was led by Cayla Adams of Sundance who placed 2nd. Rachel Morgan of Hulett placed 3rd and Tessa Garman of Hulett placed 17th.
“I felt that all our runners ran well. This is a very challenging course, and we stepped up and ran our best races so far this year at conference. Now we have to go carry that same effort at state.”
The Wyoming State Cross Country meet will be held in Douglas this Saturday, October 22, at the Douglas golf course.
