Robert Keith McAmis, of Evansville, Wyoming, died June 28, 2012, in an automobile accident on Wyoming Highway 387.
He was born to Carp and Elizabeth (Longdon) McAmis on October 26, 1938, on the family ranch in Alva, Wyoming. Robert operated a construction business for many years, worked with Qwest and also rebuilt airplanes in Alaska. Bob had a passion for flying. He loved the outdoors and hunting with his sons. Bob loved working on his trucks and only wanted to drive trucks he could fix. He loved John Wayne and all his movies. He worked hard his whole life and was so proud of his children. He felt his greatest accomplishment was his children and their success.
He was married to Jacqueline Thompson McAmis for 26 years when he passed away. He was married to Linda Redding Ellefson for 29 years and together they had four children, Marvin James (Terry) McAmis, Connie McAmis (Tom) Hoffman, Debra McAmis (Mike) Wehrer and Robert Patrick “Pat” (Barb) McAmis. His grandchildren are Rory (Alisha) McAmis, Lori (Brad) Miller, Robert (Jenny) McIntosh, Julie (Kaleb) Kammerer, Kendall Wehrer, Konnor Wehrer, Michael Burt and Chris (Sarah) Burt. His great- grandchildren are Kyle and Eric McAmis, Shad Robinette, Jaelynn and Hayley McIntosh, Ezra, Bella, and Malachi Burt; and Phoenix, Jordyn and Tristan Burt.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, of Casper, Wyoming; four children; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Jim) Bradley, Beverly (Don) Reese; and brothers, Bruce (Peggy) McAmis, and Charles (Donna) McAmis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nina Anderson and Marjorie Dailey.
Graveside services were at the Alva Cemetery on Tuesday, July 3, with lunch will be served immediately after. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Crook County Volunteer Fire Department.
