Plea deal reached in sexual assault case

By Sarah Pridgeon
Ex-Hulett police officer Bryce R. Tucker appeared before District Court on Tuesday to submit a plea agreement with regards to one felony count of sexual assault in the third degree along with two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.
Tucker pled guilty to the two misdemeanors and no contest to the felony. The court entered judgements of guilt on all three counts and ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence investigation report.
In accordance with the plea agreement, the State will recommend a suspended sentence of not less than 5 nor more than 7 years and 10 years of probation on the Third Degree Sexual Assault charge, as well as payment of restitution. The Court, however, is not bound by the recommendations of the State and could sentence Tucker to up to 15 years in prison on the felony.
