The Upton –Sundance Patriots wrapped up their football season with a 56-0 loss in the opening round of the state football championships on Friday in Cokeville. The Patriots finished their regular season with a 4-3 record with wins over Moorcroft, Rocky Mountain, Burlington and Pine Bluffs. Mid-season injuries to key players made tough going for the Patriots who dropped a trio of games to Southeast, Lusk and Lingle-Ft. Laramie.
The playoffs resume this Saturday as Cokeville will face Southeast, who won on Saturday over Burlington. On the other side of the bracket, Lingle-Ft. Laramie surprised Rocky Mountain and will now take on Niobrara County (Lusk) who rolled over Riverside.
