Bryton Materi hands off to Skyler Wagaman during the Upton-Sundance Patriots’ home opener against the Shoshoni Wranglers on Friday. Although the combined squad displayed a few bright spots, the visiting Wranglers gave them more than they could handle – defeating them by a 40 – 6 margin. Jett Materi scored the Patriots’ lone touchdown with a 57 yard run on the opening drive of the second half while Josh Thoren led Shoshoni by hauling in four touchdown passes.
The Patriots head to Lingle this Friday for a 7 p.m. game with the Doggers. Lingle comes into the game with a 1-0 record after taking down Saratoga 28 – 6 last week.
