Patriots hammer Wolves

The Upton – Sundance football squad extended their win streak to two games with a dominating homecoming performance in Upton on Friday against the Normative Services Wolves.

Following a big run by Skyler Wagaman, Jett Materi opened up the scoring for the Patriots with a rushing touchdown midway through the second quarter. J. Materi chipped in another touchdown off from a 26 yard run a few minutes later and, thanks to a pair of two-point conversions from Bryton Materi and Caleb Bush, giving the home team a 16-0 lead at half.

The Pats continued their assault in the third as B. Materi punched in a touchdown and another two-point conversion at the 8:44 mark. Following an NSI fumble, B. Materi found Caleb Garhart in the endzone with an 18 yard td pass. J. Materi punched in for another two points and brought the score to 32-0.

In the fourth, B. Materi scored again with a short, 4th down rush followed by another conversion. Mike Christensen kept the Pats rolling with an interception on defense. Senior Trent Bush broke free for a 63 yard scamper and another U. – S. touchdown. B. Materi added another two points, bring the score to 48-0 midway through the quarter.

NSI was able to get on the board with a 20 yard touchdown pass late in the fourth.

Next up for the Patriots is a matchup against the Natrona JV on Thursday in Upton.

Hill City comes to town on Friday the 29th for the Sundance Homecoming game.
