Patricia Dianne Ballou-Brimmer

Brimmer 3Patricia Dianne Ballou-Brimmer, 69, Hulett, Wyoming, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.
Patricia was born March 3, 1944, in Sturgis, South Dakota, to Barbara (Nickelson) and Francis Ballou. She grew up in the Seely, Wyoming, area, attending country school at the Johnson School. Later graduating from Hulett High School, where she was prom queen her junior year. She worked as a waitress in Hulett, before heading off to Casper College and later the University of Wyoming.
On April 17, 1965, she married Irvin Brimmer; and shortly after the birth of their first child, Jannice, they moved to Trona, California, for a short time. Then they moved back to Hulett, to continue their life together. Pat stayed at home for a few years, raising bum lambs and selling eggs with her in-laws and Jannice. During this time on August 14, 1969, Lyle Irvin Brimmer was born to complete the family of four. They soon moved to Hulett and purchased their home, so the kids would be closer to school. Pat worked part-time for the Adult Education Community program, Irvin found this to be a learning experience, often being taken to classes including square dancing and tai kwon do. She also helped Irvin in their repair business. Pat worked various jobs throughout the years, part-time for the Crook County Senior Citizens program, making many long lasting connections and lifelong friends. She also worked full-time at Devils Tower National Monument and as a substitute teacher in Hulett. She worked for the US Postal Service, until retiring in 2011.
She loved to collect sherbet dishes, southwest designed items, garage sales and spending time relaxing with Irvin in Deadwood. Her ideal day was spending time with family or friends visiting and laughing. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and was very proud of every achievement they made. Over the years she was active in Rebecca’s, Senior Citizen Board, a 4H Leader and Civic Center Board.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin of Hulett; daughter, Jannice (Wyatt) Baalhorn of Casper; son Lyle (Keely) Brimmer of Gillette; grandchildren, Cooper Baalhorn, Casey Baalhorn, Justin Rozek, Brittany Cochran and great-grandson, Jayd; siblings, Wayne (Leah) Ballou of Hulett, Kay (Bob) Wood of Brighton, Colorado, and Roger (Bonnie) Ballou of Hulett. Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral Services for Patricia will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Greater Hulett Community Center. Burial will follow at the Hulett Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Hulett Civic Center after her burial for a brief meal and visiting.
Memorials can be made to the Hulett Civic Center, where Pat was an active participant.
