Negotiations are underway to resituate the Cole Water Storage Tank on private property close to its current location, say Trihydro reps, bringing a potentially positive close to the tank’s long search for a more stable home. Speaking at this month’s regular meeting of the city council, the city engineers also reported progress on the Level 1 Water Study and other current projects.
Dan Mummert, on behalf of Trihydro, discussed the steps being undertaken to ensure that the proposed site for the Cole Tank is stable and construction friendly. Geologists have evaluated two possible positions at the location, inspected the rock formations and taken samples that will be given to a geotechnical engineer.
“We’ve also established a route going up to the site that makes sense” said Mummert. “There’s a nice natural bench for a road that runs up the side of the hill.”
Mummert stated that both positions appear to be suitable from a construction standpoint but expressed Trihydro’s preference for the one with the most natural screening.
