Nancy Coon

Coon, NancyMrs. Nancy Coon, 88 of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away on August 15, 2018, at Hospice of the Hills, Rapid City, South Dakota.
Graveside services were held August 20, 2018 at the Black Hills National Cemetery. A reception followed at the Sundance Senior Center.
Nancy was born in Lima, Ohio, on March 30, 1930. She graduated from Union City High School and after she worked at various positions around Union City, Indiana.
Nancy was married to Raymond L. Williams in 1948 for 15 years. In that time they had three sons, Gary (Jake), Charles (Chuck) and Mark prior to locating to Sundance. A fatal accident took the life of Ray.
Nancy remarried MSG Clifford L. Coon in 1967, having another son, Michael (Mike) in 1969; followed Cliff to various duty assignments prior to his retirement from the Air Force in 1974, eventually settling in Sheridan, Wyoming. Upon Mike’s graduation, Cliff and Nancy moved to San Francisco, spending several years on the west coast, then relocating back to Sundance.
Nancy and Cliff had recently celebrated their 50th anniversary of a wonderful marriage.
Nancy worked at the Sundance Hospital as a nurse’s assistant, always helping people in need. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and received numerous awards and ribbons for her wares while on display at the Alaska State Fair.
Nancy is survived by her husband; children, Mark and Mike; one brother, Michael Blankley; one sister, Judy Shreves; and several nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends. She was preceded in death by Raymond Williams, Gary Williams and Charles Williams.
