Motorcyclist charged after high speed chase

Highway Patrol pursued a speeding motorcycle from Sundance to Moorcroft on Friday, after it was spotted traveling at 99 mph across the 187 interchange in Sundance. The chase continued for 30 miles, accelerating to a speed of 140 mph.
This speed was maintained through a construction zone and despite other traffic until the pursuit ended at milepost 157, four miles out of Moorcroft. The motorcyclist raised his left hand to indicate his surrender and pulled over to the side of the road, said Marty Noonan of Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, Chase Vieth, from Wisconsin, is a 19-year-old student at Black Hills State University, according to Noonan. He has been charged with speeding, reckless driving and a eluding a police officer.
The incident took place on Friday, September 23 at 4:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.
