Lyle Otis Donaldson

Lyle Donaldson passed away at home peacefully in his sleep, on December 16, 2012, after multiple strokes. Lyle was 86, born on December 16, 1926, to Robert and Myrtle (Humphrey) Donaldson in Sundance, Wyoming. Lyle grew up in Sundance and attended Sundance schools, graduating from Sundance High School with the Class of 1945.

Lyle married Wavie J. Cole on December 22, 1946. They raised a family of four children, Tim, Jim, Dan and Judy. Lyle had an illustrious career in Federal Civil Service working as an explosives specialist for the U. S. Army and as a Safety Officer for the U. S. Air Force. He retired in 1986 after 38 years of service, with honors including a Letter of Appreciation from then President Ronald Reagan.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; wife, Wavie; and youngest son, Daniel.

He is survived by children, Tim and Rita (Lungren) Donaldson, Jim and Anh (Trinh) Donaldson, and Judy Rose; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lyle will be missed greatly by all.
