Luella B. Kipp

Luella B. (Bernd) Kipp passed away on June 13, 2012 after a long illness.

She was born to Ray and Lulu Bernd in Faith, South Dakota, on February 28, 1928. She and Wayne L. Kipp were married in Spearfish, South Dakota, on September 6, 1947.

Luella graduated from Sundance High School in 1946 and studied at the University of Wyoming and Aurora Community College. She was employed by the Aurora, Colorado, Public Schools for many years.

Luella enjoyed singing, her model A friends, writing and especially her family. She traveled to Germany with her singing group, Treble by Nature, of which she was a long time member. She later sang with the Harmonics. Luella and Wayne were very active in a Model A club which provided years of enjoyment for them and their son Jerry. They traveled extensively with that group, not only in the United States and Canada, but also Australia. She excelled in and enjoyed writing and was the editor of the Model A monthly newsletter for six years. She later wrote articles and stories for the newsletter. Luella will be remembered for her love of telling stories.

Luella is survived by her daughter, Ginger L. Kipp; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry R. (Connie) Kipp; grandsons, Matthe (Caroline) Kipp and Gregory Kipp along with one great grandson. She is also survived by one brother, Harold “Nubs” (Norma) Bernd of Sundance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; and brothers, Russell and Lester.

Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
