Linda Kay Wenger

obit pic 1Linda Kay Wenger, 61, of Devils Tower, Wyoming, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Linda was born April 27, 1952, to Charles and Harriett Duke in Casper, Wyoming. She joined a big sister, Maralee, to complete their family. Linda grew up in Casper and attended Casper schools; she graduated from Kelly Walsh High School, then attended Casper College and obtained an LPN degree. She worked at Poplar Living Center for several years. Linda eventually moved to Gillette, where she worked at Pioneer Manor for a period of time. She met the love of her life, Bob Wenger and they were married July 18, 1981, at the home they built near Devils Tower, and where they shared their lives since 1979. Bob and Linda enjoyed traveling in their motor home in the winter months to several areas in Arizona where they met up with friends and family members to enjoy the warm winter months. Linda was a very caring person and loved to take care of everyone, but especially the elderly. She loved her dogs, Crooky and Molly and enjoyed walking them and throwing balls, but everyone that knew her knew the most important person in her life was her husband, Bob. Linda is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bob; her sister, Maralee Duke of Topsham, Maine; her niece, Corie (John) of Bowdoinham, Maine; her step-daughters, Glenda Jilek, Tammy (Tom) Beck, Vikki (Jon) Bartow and Kim (Troy) Scott all of Gillette; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, one great-nephew; and one great-niece. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Harriett Duke. Memorial services for Linda Kay Wenger will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Family Life Church, 480 Hwy 50, Gillette, with Pastor Martin Crump officiating.
