After reading Senator Enzi’s letter to the editor of July 18th, I am now confused by the difference between his words and his actions. In the letter he said he understood our aversion to “the intrusion of the federal government into our daily lives”, yet he himself is using his power at the federal level to do just that. I am speaking of his continued effort at forcing all of us to pay MORE sales tax by spearheading his legislation to force the collection of sales tax on Internet purchases. This is the exact type of intrusion that we don’t need from the Feds, yet he is the one behind it.
So which is it Senator? More intrusion or less? More taxes or less? Perhaps he can explain his position at the upcoming town hall meeting?
