Kahler named Sundance’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year

Sundance High School music teacher Todd Kahler has been selected as this year’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Sundance Area Chamber of Commerce and the community members who participated in the selection process.
Kahler, who began teaching at SHS in 1983, has been an active member of the community who has lent his musical talents for a wide range of community events from funerals to fundraisers. He has long been recognized as a favorite teacher, known for his dedication to students and to the high school music program which has long been one of the most consistent and successful programs throughout the region.
The chamber will host its annual banquet to honor Kahler on Friday, March 23 at Etta’s Place in Sundance. The event begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event/meal are $25 and are available at Sundance State Bank, Sundance Dillon’s Hardware and the Sundance Subway. Organizers anticipate tickets sales will be brisk so they encourage the public to purchase theirs early.
