John R. Powell, 48, of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012.
John married Deborah Jo Cloud on September 20, 1997.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents John and Sue Powell of Dodge City, Kansas; his beloved wife and best friend Deb of Sundance; children, Lisa Corley of Sundance, David Allen Burt of Idaho Springs, Colorado, Michael Lee (Steffani Williams) Burt, of Mt. Belvieu, Texas; his grandchildren Caitlin and Brooklyn Corley, Daniel and Emily Quinn, Brian and David Burt, Paxton and Fallon Burt; his sisters; Janette (Rickey) Bennett of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Lorrie (Ken) Gottschalk of Aurora, Colorado, LaFonda (Lyle) Miller, Dana (Garrett) Bryning both of Denver, Colorado, Staci Unruh of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Marti Lovell of Dodge City, Kansas; his brothers, Mike (Tina) Adcock of Gunnison, Colorado, and Wayne (Shelli) Carter of Jetmore, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
John’s generous and loving heart endeared him to everyone he met. He considered his friends a part of his family and was well-known for his bear hugs.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the funeral chapel. All friends and family are welcomed to attend a luncheon at the community room in the Courthouse basement following the services.
