JH wrestling season underway

Sundance Junior High wrestlers started off their season on Saturday Nov. 2 with the Loren Jackson Inviational Wrestling Tournament at Twin Spruce in Gillette. The tournament hosted 374 Wrestlers and a total of 500 matches. Each wrestler had three matches throughout the day with each match consisting of two, two minutes periods beginning on their feet. The tournament was divided into two age divisions with 90 wrestlers in the sixth grade division and 290 wrestlers in the seveth-eighth grade division. Sundance Jr. High coached by James Halverson and Todd Seeley had a great first showing with 17 wrestlers participating, many of whom had never wrestled before.
Eighth Grade: Braylon Materi lost the first match and won the next two to take 5th place. Luke Sullivan won the first match and lost in the championship match to take 2nd place. Beau Mitzel went 1 for 3. Michael Donoway lost his first match and won his next two to place 5th. Cody Miller went 0 for 3.
Seventh Grade: Will Tinsley went 0-3. Laramie Holst went 0 for 3. Chance Watt went 1 for 3. Tanner Hofland lost his first match and won his next two to place 5th. Jerrett Schloredt went 1 for 3. Preston Castor went 1 for 3. Brendan Diede went 1 for 3. Justin Tenke went 0 for 3.
Sixth Grade: Josiah Rudloff won his first two matches and lost in the championship to place 2nd. Myles Stefonich lost his first match and won his next two matches to place 5th. Titus Schelling went 1 for 3 to place 6th. Parker Seeley won all his matches to take 1st Place.
