Janice Irene Humphrey

Janice Irene Humphrey, 76 of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away on May 29, 2012, at Crook County Memorial Nursing Home.

Memorial services were held Monday, June 4, 2012, at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance. A reception followed at the Aladdin Community Hall.

Memorials may be directed to benefit the Crook County Memorial Nursing Home in Sundance.

Janice was born August 2, 1935, to Fredrick and Lydia (Werre) Rieker in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her mother passed away following child birth. Janice was raised by her father and step-mother, Katherine along with her two step- sisters, Grace and Gladys in Lemmon, North Dakota. Janice graduated from high school in Lemmon, South Dakota. She married Irvin “Bud” Humphrey on June 2, 1954, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and to this union three children were born, Deborah, Delbert and Sandra. The couple moved to Sundance in 1968. Janice was well known for being a hard worker and an amazing cook. She was always busy in the kitchen cooking and baking delicious goodness for her family. Janice especially loved going to and watching her children and grandchildren when they participated in basketball, football, volleyball and track. She was very involved and proud of her grandchildren. She was a loving and loyal wife for 52 years, and always had a smile and a kind word for those around her.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Moeller of Sundance, Delbert (Andrea) Humphrey of Aladdin, Wyoming, and Sandra (Bill) Whalen of Aladdin; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as her step-sisters, Grace Bubbers of McIntosh, South Dakota, and Gladys Staiger of Seattle, Washington, and step-brother, Reverend Gerald Scheck of Jacksonville, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; grandson, Clay Moeller; and son-in-law, Monty Moeller.
