Inyan Kara Homemakers

The Inyan Kara Homemakers’ group met in the home of hostess, Jessie Tschetter, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, for their regular monthly meeting. President Peggy Symonds called the meeting to order and Jessie led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Three members answered Roll Call by sharing ‘something that we were thinking, are worried about, what we were happy about and/or feeling.’ We had some interesting conversation over these topics. Our Thought for the Day was to share a quote or quotes about a subject that has some meaning to us.
As we had no actual meeting in May and the June meeting was a ‘Fun Trip’ to Spearfish for lunch at the Wide Mouth Frog restaurant, Belle Fourche and then to Aladdin to visit Cindy Wilson’s yarn shop, there were no minutes for either month. Thus, the minutes of the April meeting were read and approved as read. The Treasurer’s report was given.
There was no correspondence. Under Old Business we were reminded of the upcoming Council Bake Sale to be held on the Wednesday (July 30) of fair week. Cinnamon rolls and other breakfast type items should be delivered by 8 a.m.; cookies and other types of baked items should be delivered before 10 a.m. There was discussion about the Hall Watch; our club is responsible for Saturday after the parade, and we wondered if the hall is indeed to be open until 7 p.m. on that day. Further information to be forthcoming about this. Jessie distributed the Fair Books and recommended that we enter items in the fair.
Under New Business our club is to be hostess for the September 8 Homemakers’ Council meeting. After much discussion we made the decision about what we will provide as the main dish. We are reminded that we also are to bring a side dish or dessert and three dollars for when we register.
The Inyan Kara club will not meet in August and JoAnne will host the September meeting on September 17. Place and other details will be determined at a later time.
The meeting was adjourned and Jessie served a delicious strawberry dessert.
