Mark your calendars! June 9 and 10 are the dates for this year’s Hulett Rodeo. The weekend will kick off with the parade down Main Street at 10 a.m. The theme this year is “Cowboy up for Freida.” Freida has helped with the parade for many years and the Hulett Chamber of Commerce thought this would be a way to thank her for all her hard work. Grand Marshals this year are Park and Luern Wood.
The Rodeo will start at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and feature Will E. Thorn as the rodeo clown. Buckles will be given to all the event winners this year with the help of the Berger family, plus there will also be $500+ in prize money for the nine major events. During the Wild Ride Calcutta, a custom built gun cabinet made and donated by RJ Danhoffer, will be auctioned off.
Rodeo Queen Sheyanne Fosheim will be on hand to promote the rodeo and welcome everyone to the 65th Annual Hulett Rodeo. If you are interested in entering the rodeo, which is NRCA and WRA approved, call Karen Dirks at 467-5929 on Monday, June 4 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. The rookie events and the steer riding entries are open now and will close at noon on Tuesday, June 5. Don’t forget the calf scramble open to any kid under the age of 10. The weekend will end with the Wild Ride featuring the top six Saddle Bronc Riders against the top six “Max Burch” bucking horses.
Bring your lawn chair and your raincoats and we will see you at the Rodeo!
