Greg was born on October 7, 1955, in Grafton, North Dakota, to Joseph and Dolores (Lindemoen) Woinarowicz. Greg spent his younger years living and working on the family farm in Stephen, Minnesota. He was the oldest of six children. Greg moved to Drayton, North Dakota, where he began working for EW Wylie. Shortly after, he married Diane (Mercil) Derosier. Together, they have three children. He then, worked for Trans Systems hauling beets.
Greg loved driving semi but always had a desire to operate some of the biggest trucks in the world. He decided to move his family to Elko, Nevada, in 1988 where he started his employment with Anglo Gold Mining Company. At that time he, “had more miles in reverse then most people had in drive!” He continued to work in Nevada until 2003.
When Greg found out he was going to be a grandfather, he choose to continue his career in Wyoming. He started his employment crushing rock for Basic Energy Services. Greg meet the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, Shonna Hemphill, in Moorcroft, Wyoming. He continued his love for driving haul truck at Black Thunder Coal Mine.
Greg enjoyed spending his time at the lake camping and trying to catch “Walter, the walleye” with his children and grandchildren, watching Nascar, mowing his yard, hanging out by the campfire telling stories.
Greg will always be remembered for his huge heart and love for his family and friends. Some will remember him as Pollock or G.W. but we will always remember him as Dad.
