Full burning restrictions in place

The Crook County Fire Warden has announced that Emergency Fire Restrictions have been put in place per the Crook County Commissioners to ensure the limitation of any additional risks to the start of fires in the County during this extremely volatile weather. As Crook and Weston County Firefighters have been fighting numerous fires, it is evident that the slightest spark can start a fire. Therefore it is critical that no one have any open fires, be extremely careful with any outdoor equipment and not use any fireworks. The complete burn restrictions will remain in place until removed by the Crook County Fire Warden. Until then, residents are reminded that open burning of any kind is not allowed. This means no burning garbage at any time; no camp fires; no charcoal fires and absolutely no fireworks.

The City of Sundance has also instituted a complete ban on any live flame which includes fireworks, fire rings, charcoal, etc. Properly operating propane grills may be used.
