Frederick B. Hendricks, age 76 of Cambria, Wisconsin, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 8, 2012.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home with Rev. Kristin Fredrich officiating. Military rites were conducted by the Cambria American Legion Post 401. A fellowship luncheon followed at the Cambria Fire Dept. Community Center.
Fred was born on August 2, 1935 in Beloit the son of Theron and Luella M (Fryday) Short. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1953. Fred served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Fred retired from the Milwaukee Railroad as an agent, working at several depots in the surrounding communities. Following his retirement, he went on to college at Mohave College in Arizona. He then moved to Wyoming and worked for ASSAY in the gold industry. Fred retired once again when ill health set in and prompted him to move back to Wisconsin to be near his family.
Fred will be sadly missed and mourned by his children, Debora Henricks of Cambria, Daniel (Peggy) Hendricks of Fall River and Denise (Robert) Bahr of Columbus; five grandchildren, Natasha (Geoffrey) Woodard, Elizabeth Newbold, Ryan Hendricks, Benjamin Hendricks and Patrick Campfield; two great grandchildren, Kyra Campfield and Liam Woodard; one step-brother, David “Pete” Short; the mother of his children, Anita (George) Rapahn of Fox Lake; his long time friend, Marcades Borup of Whitewood, South Dakota; other relatives and many dear friends in Wyoming.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, Pheron “Terry” Short.
