Fairground swap proposal moving forward

During the Crook County Commissioner’s Budget Session on Thursday, the commissioners opted to place a $10,000 line item in the budget to study a potential fairgrounds relocation. The funds are anticipated to be used to have HDR Engineering prepare an estimate of the cost of building a new fairgrounds facility in order to proceed with a potential grant application. Despite concerns over a mid-September application deadline, the commission and members of the fair board who spoke out during the meeting felt they would likely have time to meet with the engineer and work on an estimate between the end of the fair and the state’s grant application deadline.
