Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Crossroads Assembly of God in Sturgis with Pastor Gerald Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Hill Cemetery in Hulett, Wyoming.
Eunice was born on November 26, 1924, to George and Eunice (Cathey) Mowery three miles east of Hulett. She grew up and attended school in the Hulett area and achieved her GED. It was there in Hulett that she met Frank Fowlkes while he was in the Army. When he was transferred to Denver, Colorado, she went with him and they were married there. They moved around while Frank was in the service but they eventually settled down in Sturgis.
Granny enjoyed reading, writing letters to various people and her family, traveling, reading her Bible, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She recently wrote a letter to one of her granddaughters that said, “Don’t worry about Granny. I win either way. If I stay, I’m with Jesus and He is with me. If I go, I will join Him on the other side.” We believe she is at home with Jesus.
She was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church for many years.
is survived by her children, Chuck (Ula) Fowlkes, Sturgis, Shirley Harris, Sturgis, and Ann Molk, Billings, Montana; step-daughter, Mary; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; ten step-grandsons; and sister, Inez Truman.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; sons, Dennis and Dee; four brothers, and one sister.
A memorial has been established to the Crossroads Assembly of God Church.
