Deena Parnell, 53 of Hulett, Wyoming, passed away on January 14, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Greater Hulett Community Center in Hulett.
Deena was born on October 29, 1958, in Gillette, Wyoming, to Glenn and Frances (Shaw) Groves. She attended and graduated from Campbell County High School. On May 23, 1977, she married Ross Wayne Parnell and together they had two children (Melissa and Lee). They lived in Gillette until 1985, and then they moved to Hulett and opened the Hulett Hardware Store.
She was a 4-H leader in leather craft and horses. Deena loved riding horses and going for rides in their MGB Sports car. She was really proud of her four grandchildren. Deena will be remembered most of all for her sense of humor, hard work, and loved to play jokes on people.
Deena is survived by her husband, Ross Wayne Parnell of Hulett; daughter Melissa (Craig) Fisher of Windsor, Colorado; son, Lee (Angela) Parnell of Hobbs, New Mexico; grandchildren, Megan and John Fisher and Joseph and AJ Parnell; parents Glenn and Frances Groves of Hulett; sisters, Deborah (Darrell) Odegaard of Egeland, North Dakota, and Dorothy (Duane) Southworth of Gillette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
