Crook County Promotion Board – Sept. 8

President Joleen Hart opened the meeting, held at 4 p.m. at the West Texas Trail Museum in Moorcroft, Wyoming. The agenda, minutes of last meeting and the treasurer’s report were all approved as presented. Guests included Cassie Garman from Black Hills Badlands and Lakes Tourism Association and Reggie Gaylord, representing the Sundance Beer Festival.

The Intercept Study has been ongoing all summer and will continue through September. Rose Ann Olson will have the results of this study at the next meeting. This study involved interviewing visitors to our area regarding their trip and what they enjoyed and would like to see more of. The Moorcroft sign for Devils Tower is now up outside of Moorcroft. Jennifer Womack of Sagebrush Marketing continues to improve and update the website for devilstowercountry.com.

The board voted to place a full page ad in the South Dakota Visitor’s Guide as well as continue to have a presence in the Visitor Center in Rapid City. Jennifer will add a Facebook page listing lodging accommodations in Crook County as that is a frequent question from visitors. The board will also be asking for a new board member from Pine Haven.

The next meeting of the Crook County Promotion Board will be held on November 17, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the West Texas Trail Museum in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
