Chairman Pam Thompson called the Crook County Museum District Board of Trustees Meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. Pam welcomed our guests and Rocky led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda: The agenda was presented. Rod made a motion to accept the agenda as presented. Catherine seconded the motion. Motion carried,
Minutes: The minutes were presented and accepted as presented..
Treasurer’s Report: The bills were presented. A full statement of accounts was presented. The Treasurer’s report will be placed on file..
Bills and Purchase Orders: Mitch and Cynthia presented purchase orders. Robert made a motion to accept the purchase orders and to pay bills. Sheila seconded the motion. Motion carried.
MOU with Crook County Museum Foundation: The MOU has been signed by Foundation Members, and District Board Members signed the MOU. The MOU will be placed on file.
District Policies Update: Doug Stevens presented a “Copyright Works Made for Hire” policy for the Board’s review. Following discussion, Rod made a motion to accept the policy presented by Doug. Catherine seconded the motion. Motion carried.
In-kind recordkeeping form: An In-kind Contribution Form was presented to the Board. Robert made a motion to accept the form presented. Sheila seconded the motion. Motion carried.
2014-2015 Budget: Jeanne conferred with Connie Tschetter to answer budget questions. The budget is in rough form, but will be emailed to the board for their feedback.
Lorie Marchant, Security Insurance: Lorie asked questions regarding our liability insurance coverage, specifically for the buildings and contents. She will bring us a cost estimate to consider.
Market Share Advertisement: Information on an advertising packet was presented to the Board. After discussion, it was the consensus of the Board that money would be better utilized for our online presence.
Little Red School House: Rocky led a discussion about the Little Red School House at the Fairgrounds, which will need moved if the land swap between city-county-school district passes. It is unclear, as of this writing, who actually owns it. Rocky and Pam will look into this further. Rocky talked to the Heritage Association and they are willing to help.
Rare Elements Resources Public Comment: Pam presented the Board a comment letter to Rare Elements Resources regarding the Bear Lodge Project, written on behalf of the Crook County Museum District. The letter reminds RER about the small fenced graveyard within the project area, and asks that any action with the graveyard be handled to the satisfaction of the Wyoming State Historical Preservation Office. Discussion was held, and the letter was amended. Rod made a motion to approve the letter as amended. Catherine seconded the motion. Motion carried, letter will be sent to RER.
Old Stoney Report: Rocky gave an update on the Old Stoney Window Project. The Mormon Missionaries worked on demolition and clean up to prep for the new windows. Invoices from Hagen Glass were sent the State Land and Investment Board (SLIB) to draw down the remaining monies in the SLIB grant. A banner is being made to display at Old Stoney to adhere to the requirements of the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund Grant we received for the Window Project. Jeanne reported that the Old Stoney website is a great way to spend some of our advertising budget, and we should continue to seek ways to utilize the social networking system. Joni, treasurer for the CCMF, gave a report on CCMF activities.

Administrative Report: Jeanne gave the amount we’ve received from our county disbursement so far this year, and presented the Range Telephone annual meeting packet. She is working on an excel spreadsheet for a master address and mailing list.
Compensation Time and Time Off Requests: Comp time and time off requests were presented to the board and accepted.
Adjournment: Pam asked if there were any questions or any other business to be brought before the Board. The meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
May Meeting: The next meeting of the Crook County Museum District Board of Trustees will be held on May 22, 2014 in Moorcroft at 5 p.m. at the West Texas Trail Museum.
