Crook County Historical Society

The Crook County Historical Society met at 11 a.m. July 8, 2014, at the Sundance State Bank Meeting Room. Members present were: President Don Stoner, Vice President Zona Unruh, Secretary Peggy Symonds, members Joe Unruh, Ellen Griffis, Ginger and John Shoffstall.
The meeting was called to order at 11 a.m. The minutes of the June meeting approved as read. There was no treasurer’s report due to absence of Rod Knudson, treasurer. Don presented a bill of $30 for storage. The Crook County Books were discussed. It was decided that books would be taken to the Chuck Wagon Feed at the Hadley Ranch on July 19. Don will visit with Jill about taking books to Hadley’s. Zona read the article about the Chuck Wagon Feed sponsored by the Crook County Library Foundation.
The article in the June Historical Society Newsletter about the Heart Mountain Pilgrimage was discussed. John told the group that he knew someone who was in a camp in Colorado. John also told the group about students he had worked with at the Federal Prison in Colorado. The July issue of the newsletter discussed the Wyoming Calendars.
Ginger moved that the Crook County Historical Society not meet in August. John seconded the motion, Motion passed. John will visit with Rod about having the September meeting at his residence in Hulett on September 9, 2014.
The tentative date set for painting the fence at the Custer Grave Site will be August 16, 2014, at 9 a.m. Member should bring a sack lunch, drinks, brushes, roller and other necessary painting tools.
The meeting was adjourned at 12 p.m.
