Crafty Stitchers

The Crafty Stitchers met Sept. 20, 2014. Lynn Conzelman gave us a demonstration on Brazilian Embroidery. She also informed us where to get the supplies if we want to pursue this craft. Cynthia Klinger showed us a quilt she made. Ellie Frisbee showed us Christmas items she made using plastic canvas.

We have also sponsored classes in Swedish weaving, wool felting, various sewing styles, and plastic canvas.

We are a community service organization. Our projects are donations to the Hulett Fire Dept, Library Foundation, Police Dept, Ambulance, and more. Many of our members are in other service organizations as well.

We make Friendship Quilts and give them to individuals in poor health who need to be lifted up.

Currently we have twenty members of all ages. Membership dues are $15 per year and $2 for each meeting attended to pay for rent of the Civic Center. We meet at the Civic Center on the third Saturday of each month from 10 am to noon.

If you would like to be a member, come to a meeting, see Lynn at Witches Stitches, or call the Civic Center and someone will direct you who to call. Feel free to bring a craft to work on when we meet. There will be refreshments and you might be the doorprize winner.

This year’s officers are: President – Jeannie Pfeifer, Vice President – Linda Ellefson, Secretary – Wanda Jahnig, Treasurer – Cynthia Klinger, and Reporter – Loretto Preuss.
