In each of Crook County’s municipalities, the mayoral and two council seats are to be decided during this year’s election season. As the filing dates come to an end in three of the towns, the candidates have been announced for each position.
In Sundance, the two available council seats are those currently held by Sheryl Klocker and Brad Marchant. Marchant will run to retain his seat and Ashley Wood has also put forward her name, while Paul Brooks hopes to be re-elected as mayor.
In Moorcroft, Mayor Steve Blakeman will be challenged by Steve Sproul. Incumbents Benjamin Glenn and Dale Petersen have put forward their names to retain their council seats.
In Pine Haven, the seats held by Larry Suchor and Margaret “Babe” Lynch are up for election. Jeanne Williams is the only name put forward for a council seat.
With Mayor Mike Smith not campaigning to retain his seat, the candidates for the mayoral position include Suchor, Lynch and Raymond Meyers.
