Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission – June 9

Members Present: Chairman Nels J. Smith, Vice-Chairman Roger Connett, Becky Rolf, Dennis R. McGirr; Members Absent: Robert W. Olver; Visitors: Dave Osborne, Bruce Brown; Staff: Tim Lyons.

The regular meeting of the Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission was called to order June 9, 2014 at 7 p.m. by Chairman, Nels Smith.

Amend the Agenda – Chairman, Nels J. Smith asked that the agenda be amended by adding the item to discuss drafting comment letter for the EPA Waters of the U.S. Rule; the agenda was amended by unanimous consent.

Adopt the Agenda –    Chairman, Nels J. Smith then asked if there was any objection to the adoption of the agenda as amended, hearing none; the agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.

Approval of the Minutes – Chairman, Nels J. Smith asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held May 12, 2014 as distributed. Roger Connett so moved; Becky Rolf seconded the motion which carried.

Old Business – Chairman, Nels J. Smith opened the review and discussion of the amendments for the Minor Subdivision Regulations. It was decided by unanimous consent to carry over this review and discussion to the July meeting.

New Business -

Paul Ferguson, proposing to submit an application for the Ferguson Residential Minor Subdivision is considering requesting a variance for the minimum lot size of 5.00 acres. Tim Lyons explained the situation which has caused Mr. Ferguson to consider requesting an acreage variance. The commission members by unanimous consent expressed that they would not be in favor of recommending to the Board of County Commissioners to grant this type variance.

Chairman, Nels J. Smith then opened discussion concerning drafting a comment letter for the EPA Waters of the U.S. Rule. Becky Rolf moved to have Tim Lyons draft a comment letter in strong opposition to the EPA Waters of the U.S. Rule; Roger Connett seconded the motion which carried.

Chairman, Nels J. Smith then asked if there was any other business to come before the commission; hearing none; Chairman, Nels J. Smith adjourned the Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission regular monthly meeting at 7:52 p.m.

Next Regular Meeting – July 7, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Crook County Courthouse Jury Room, Sundance, Wyoming.
