He was born August 30, 1937, in Gillette, Wyoming, and moved to Sundance, Wyoming, when his parents, M.O. and Dorothea Trego, bought the Mona Short Line Telephone Co. in 1944. He attended school there including Sundance High School, graduating in 1955. He went to an apprentice printing school in Brookings, South Dakota, for two years. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked for his dad installing phones, as a switch board operator, and as lineman. He then attended court reporting school in San Francisco, California. He worked for the court systems in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his brother, Michael; niece, Michelle White, and nephew, Gregory, both of Laramie WY; and adopted son, Aundre, of Chicago, Illinois.
He was very social and generous, talking to many people and making many friends in his travels. He loved to see the college band competitions when available nearby.
Cremation was by Allen Brothers Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel.
